Filming blog

 Today my team and I went out to the track to start filming. Wren and I filmed the first half of our commercial so Charlie and Nick could throw the football. Nick was our actor for the first half so he wore all nike. Nick had a nike headband, shirt, shorts, and shoes. We stuck to our story board and it was fairly easy to film. Wren and I had difficulty filming one clip where we had to get a close up of the football being thrown in slow motion. Other than that, it was easy to film and we had a lot of fun. I started with a close up of nick's nike shows and slowed moved up to show his nike shorts and t-shirt. I moved the camera up to show nick holding the football. In the next clip he then threw it. I was able to get about two clips of the football clearly and I think it turned out pretty good. Charlie was on the other side catching the football and then throwing it back to Nick even though he wasn't in the video. It ended with nick holding the football and going in close to the football so we could make our transition to the second half of our commercial.As soon as my team and I were done filming our first half my friend Maria called me and told me she needed help filming. My team and I went over to the stairs by building 17 to help her film. I filmed the intro to their video after finishing ours. I filmed Maria walking down the stairs as she bumped into Parker spilling juice on herself. That made her sad so Maria gave her a pice of extra gum in their commercial. After I finished helping it was time to go back to class. My team and I were talking about where we were going to film the next day and what the plan was.

Title Design Research: Thriller

For our title blog we chose "Splice".  A title sequence from a movie in the thriller genre. Here is some information we pulled for the title sequence. 1. How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film? Which ones? Throughout the 3 minute and 30 second video, the video showed 32 titles scenes. This opening was more like an end credit, it included the producer companies, actors, producers, directors, etc. At the end of the title scene it showed "Splice" with the letters enlarged and held for a few seconds. The camera looked like it was going through the body of something and along the way titles would transition in and slowly fade and a new title was coming in.  2. What connotations do the images carry? (how do they make you feel) The title sequences first contains images of many different x-rays with titles in every other picture. Our Film

 Yay we finished out film! I'm really proud of my group and I, I think we did a decent job. I'm a little sad this is our last project, I had a lot of fun working on this with my group.

Production (filming)

 So, I had planned to go film at a local park today, but it didn't work out. I got home, gathered my belongings, and was ready to go. I gathered all of our props, including costumes, a fake knife, and other items. But as soon as I stepped outside, it began to rain!! I waited about fifteen minutes for the rain to stop, but it didn't, so my group and I reached a deal. I made the decision to go to Nick's place, where we would be able to work inside. I began by putting the finishing touches on our script and outline. I also observed other films in our genre that have been similar to ours. We noticed a few key details, such as the usage of low perspectives throughout the film. Low angles are also employed to demonstrate the subject's might in these professional films, I noticed. I intended to use this in our film to demonstrate the kidnapper's power.
