Beginning to Film

 


On December 2, my group and I began filming out music scenes. My group and I were all available to film today. We filmed the first 3 scenes out of the 12 today for our music video. I was at my group members house for the first two scenes. I was helping film, along with my two other group members while Charles was acting. Charlie has all the props at his house. The first scene I filmed was him sleeping, and then his alarm clock goes off. He wakes up happy and smiling while the song starts playing in the background. It took about 15 minutes to get this shot but we got it right. Then next scene I helped film was in the kitchen. Charles was making breakfast that include eggs, bacon, and juice. Since the song talks about breakfast, my group and I wanted to include a scene that goes along with the song. This scene was easy to film for me since it was simple.

My group and I were walking around talking about our day. We had happy facial expressions to reprsent our song. Wren and I filmed this scene while Charles and Nick were acting. The weather was perfect today so we had no trouble filming outside. If it was raining, our scene would've looked different. After finishing these three scenes, my group and I were done filming for the day. I will be filming with my group again on Friday at the park and 7-11 for the next scenes.

Title Design Research: Thriller

For our title blog we chose "Splice".  A title sequence from a movie in the thriller genre. Here is some information we pulled for the title sequence. 1. How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film? Which ones? Throughout the 3 minute and 30 second video, the video showed 32 titles scenes. This opening was more like an end credit, it included the producer companies, actors, producers, directors, etc. At the end of the title scene it showed "Splice" with the letters enlarged and held for a few seconds. The camera looked like it was going through the body of something and along the way titles would transition in and slowly fade and a new title was coming in.  2. Our Film

 Yay we finished out film! I'm really proud of my group and I, I think we did a decent job. I'm a little sad this is our last project, I had a lot of fun working on this with my group.

Production (filming)

 So, I had planned to go film at a local park today, but it didn't work out. I got home, gathered my belongings, and was ready to go. I gathered all of our props, including costumes, a fake knife, and other items. But as soon as I stepped outside, it began to rain!! I waited about fifteen minutes for the rain to stop, but it didn't, so my group and I reached a deal. I made the decision to go to Nick's place, where we would be able to work inside. I began by putting the finishing touches on our script and outline. I also observed other films in our genre that have been similar to ours. We noticed a few key details, such as the usage of low perspectives throughout the film. Low angles are also employed to demonstrate the subject's might in these professional films, I noticed. I intended to use this in our film to demonstrate the kidnapper's power.
