Filming Last Three Scenes and Editing

Scenes 10-12 and editing


On December 10th, my group and I filmed scenes 10-12 for my music video. Charlie, Nick, Wren and I filmed these scenes at Charlie's house. The props we used for these scenes was a phone and a bed. For the 10th scene, my group and I showed Charlie's phone showing texts about how we had a good day. We wanted the audience/viewers to see that my group and I truly had fun in this video. For the 11th scene, my group and I filmed Charlie thinking about all the fun he had in a flashback memory of the day. This scene only took one shot since it was two seconds and easy to film. For the 12th scene, we filmed Charlie going to sleep smiling. This scene was at his house and it only took one shot. This was out last day filming for the music video so we made the best out of it. 

Since we finished filming, it is time to edit the scenes to make the music video. My group and I finished the editing in one night. Charlie and Nick are the ones with editing skills. It took them about two hours. Charlie did most of the work but we all gave out advice and impute on what filters and transition scenes to use. After editing, the music video came out to be one minute and three seconds. We realized it needed to be one minute and thirteen seconds. We ended up making some scenes longer in the edit to reach our goal time. None of these scenes were difficult to edit. This was a super fun project for me and my group to work on together.

Title Design Research: Thriller

For our title blog we chose "Splice".  A title sequence from a movie in the thriller genre. Here is some information we pulled for the title sequence. 1. How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film? Which ones? Throughout the 3 minute and 30 second video, the video showed 32 titles scenes. This opening was more like an end credit, it included the producer companies, actors, producers, directors, etc. At the end of the title scene it showed "Splice" with the letters enlarged and held for a few seconds. The camera looked like it was going through the body of something and along the way titles would transition in and slowly fade and a new title was coming in.  2. Our Film

 Yay we finished out film! I'm really proud of my group and I, I think we did a decent job. I'm a little sad this is our last project, I had a lot of fun working on this with my group.

Production (filming)

 So, I had planned to go film at a local park today, but it didn't work out. I got home, gathered my belongings, and was ready to go. I gathered all of our props, including costumes, a fake knife, and other items. But as soon as I stepped outside, it began to rain!! I waited about fifteen minutes for the rain to stop, but it didn't, so my group and I reached a deal. I made the decision to go to Nick's place, where we would be able to work inside. I began by putting the finishing touches on our script and outline. I also observed other films in our genre that have been similar to ours. We noticed a few key details, such as the usage of low perspectives throughout the film. Low angles are also employed to demonstrate the subject's might in these professional films, I noticed. I intended to use this in our film to demonstrate the kidnapper's power.
